Geared Projects focusses on the disciplines of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, while also supporting and working closely with other disciplines such as civil, structural, environmental & chemical /process.
Pumping and piping systems for all types of process fluids including slurries (settling/non-settling - shear-thinning/shear-thickening), viscous & non-viscous fluids. All types of pumps including centrifugal, helical rotor, peristaltic, gear/vane, diaphragm. Duty / standby, parallel / series, fixed speed / variable configurations.
Storage tanks and pressure vessels to AS 1692, API 620 & 650, and AS1210 for various chemicals, acids and alkalis, process fluids.
Pressure piping systems to AS 4041 and Process piping to ASME B31.3.
Steam and condensate distribution including steam heaters, pressure reducing stations, steam traps, condensate pumps, relief / blow-off valves.
Compressed air systems for general purpose and instrument air including compressors, accumulators, filters, driers and regulators.
Materials handling of raw and processed materials including pneumatic conveying, dense and lean phase, air-slides, vibrating conveyors, rod and ball mills, belt conveyors. Also hoppers and associated chutes, activators, vibrators/impactors, gates/valves.
Process air and product cooling and dehumidification. Large scale air-conditioning and ventilation for Process, Storage and Mines.
Dust and fume capture, extraction and treatment, eg. Grinding and paint booths, dust collectors.
Machinery and conveyor guarding to Australian Standards AS4024 and AS1755.
Maintenance provisions for operators and maintenance staff including platforms, walkways and ladders to AS 1657, lifting devices and service/utility stations.
Heat transfer and recovery including shell and tube and plate heat exchangers, contact heaters, steam coils.
Slurry / liquid settling and clarification and associated rakes / drives, weirs / flumes, mixers, static and dynamic.
Raw Water Pump Stations for water boards and irrigation providers. Past projects ranging in capacity from 160 to 1500 L/s and heads to 400m, delivering along channels and pipelines in built-up and rural / overland areas.
Domestic / Treated Water Pump Stations for various local government / councils. Pumping systems include parallel and series pumping and booster pumps; various pumps types and sizes; fixed and variable speed. Mechanical, electrical and controls systems.
Water Treatment Plants for Town Water Supplies and Swimming Pools. Mechanical equipment including gravity and pressure filtration, clarification, aeration and disinfection systems, sodium hypochlorite, chlorination. Also reverse osmosis for water savings on industrial / process plant.
Wastewater Pump Stations for municipal and commercial purposes. Pumping systems include submersible, immersible and dry well pumps; fixed and variable speed. Mechanical, electrical and controls systems, odour control and ventilation.
Wastewater Treatment Plants for municipal and industrial purposes. Various mechanical equipment / systems including grit removal, rag removal and washing (bar screens, micro and step screens, washer/compactors, macerators), mixing and aeration (centrifugal, axial, air etc.), flocculation systems, sludge pumping, sludge digestion, sludge capture, handling and dewatering, disinfection, and odour control. Methane capture, purification and heat recovery.
Pumping and treatment systems for municipal and commercial pools including sand and micro-screen filtration, back-flushing, buffer & balance tanks, alum and lime dosing, chlorine and sodium hypochlorite dosing, and associated storage & handling facilities. Also solar & heat pump water heating.
Pumping and distribution systems for site fire protection to AS2419 & AS 2941 including storage tanks, main and booster pumps, diesel and electrical driven, booster assemblies, ring mains, hydrants and hose reels.
Residential, commercial and industrial sprinkler systems and associated control valves and piping, to AS 2118. Includes deluge systems and foam systems.
Fuel storage and handling to AS 1940, API, ISO & Site standards. Includes tanks/vessels, pumps, piping and valves for truck/ship/vessel loading/unloading & distribution of flammable and combustible liquids, Liquefied Petroleum Gas and liquid.
Fuel, oil and waste oil storage and handling systems for large diesel generating sets.
Building mechanical services (HVAC) on commercial & public buildings. Includes offices, apartments, libraries, schools and universities, hospitals and medical centres, restaurants and clubs, unit and resort accommodation, defence buildings, workshops and hangars.
HVAC equipment includes a complete range of air-conditioning systems from ducted and non-ducted split systems, packaged units and chilled water systems. Also associated building ventilation systems including carpark, kitchen and toilet exhausts, and fresh air supply systems.
Building electrical services including light and power, emergency lighting, comms and data, dry fire / smoke detection systems.
Electrical power distribution equipment / system design from transformer to switchboard, down to socket outlets or hard wired equipment.
Wet fire protection including sprinkler systems to AS2118, hydrants to AS 2419 & AS2941, hose reel systems to AS 2441 and extinguishers to AS 2444. Dry fire systems including fire / smoke detection systems to AS 1670.
Vehicle and equipment workshops, for industrial and municipal purposes including mobile & fixed equipment, welding and fabrication.
All services including light and power, ventilation systems, compressed air, tyre fitting, lube oil systems and oil/water separation, lifting equipment and materiel storage / racking.
Preparation of Asset Registers, Asset Valuations & Condition Assessments.
Replacement Strategies, Total Management Plans including Financial Plans, Asset Management Plans, Maintenance Management Plans and Demand Management Plans for local government, to meet State and Federal Government subsidy / funding application requirements.
